Potato Khichdi



Ingredients:

2           ..............  medium sized potatoes
1 cup   ..............  ground nuts
½ tsp    ............... cumin seeds
1           ..............  green chili
½          .............  lemon
1 tbsp   ..............  oil
½ tsp    ..............  turmeric powder (optional)
salt to taste

Method:
  • Take a pan. Add the ground nuts and roast them on medium flame for 5 minutes. Let them cool and grind them to form powder. Keep aside.
  • Cut the potato in long thin slices (julienne). Keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Slice the green chili and add it along with cumin seeds and turmeric powder. 
  • Add the potato and salt. Mix well. Cover the pan with a lid and cook till the potatoes are tender.
  • Add the roasted ground nut powder and squeeze the lemon. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes more on low flame.
  • Ready to serve.
