Bateta vada ( potato bonda)


Ingredients:
3 medium sized potatoes
2 small onion cut in small pieces
1 small cut capsicum
3 green chilies small cut
1 small piece ginger grated
1 small bunch coriander leaves
3 tsp garam masala powder
1/2 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp lemon juice
salt to taste

For the Batter :
3 tbsp of gram flour
2 tsp oil
approx 3/4 cup water
salt to taste
pinch of baking soda

Method:
  • Boil and mash the potatoes.
  • Add small cut onions , small cut capsicums, green chilies, grated ginger, small cut coriander leaves, garam masala powder, red chili powder,lemon juice and salt to taste
  • mix it well.
  • Now mix gram flour, oil, water, salt to taste and the
    baking powder ( it should be in a thick consistency )
  • Once the batter is done , make small balls out of the mixture and roll them into the batter
  • Deep fry them
  • ready to serve

Serving Suggestions:
Serve them with chutney, can be served as a snack or starter
